Summer Makeup
Summer is here and so many of us are heading to the beach, or other destinations for a holiday break. I don’t know about you but I find myself wanting to cut down on the usual steps of my cosmetic routine. Here are some options for you to consider.
Foundation
On a daily basis I use a medium to light coverage foundation ( Cheryl Stuart Luminous Foundation). When I travel I go with a lighter product that always has an SPF. At almost 59 years of age I still apply my moisturizer and SPF before my foundation because I can never have enough hydration especially when in hot climates. For those of you with normal, or oily skin types choose your moisturizer accordingly and then apply your foundation. Here are some ideas for lightweight foundations for summer. Please keep in mind that we all love the look of bronze glowing skin but I prefer to create the look with cosmetics rather than over tanning, or burning which can make the skin look dry and very mature no matter what your age.
- Cheryl Stuart BB Cream – BB Cream is a beauty balm that will act as a face primer and will offer a slight diffusion of skin imperfections. Always add a touch of concealer over your BB cream where you need extra coverage and then dust with a bronzer or light weight powder to set.
- Cheryl Stuart CC Cream – CC Cream is a correction cream. When it comes out of the tube it’s white in color and then with the heat of your body changes color that looks like your skin tone. It really is very light in coverage but truly diffuses imperfections, and redness. Follow with concealer where needed, and set with a powder.
- Cheryl Stuart Mineral Moisture Tint – This is a whipped moisturizer with a touch of color. Some shades are available with a bit of shimmer which looks beautiful in the sun. This product gives very little coverage but it delivers a beautiful look of hydrated natural skin. Follow if needed with concealer, and powder.
Blush and Highlighters
After you apply your foundation you can apply a powder or cream blush, and a highlighter to create a dewy touch of color to your cheeks.
- Cheryl Stuart Cream Blush – This is one of my personal favorites, Applied to the apple of your cheeks it leaves your skin dewy and fresh with a hint of color. I start with a bronzer used as a contour then add the color to my cheeks to complete the look.
- Cheryl Stuart Baked Blush – This terracotta baked blush has a pop of sheer color that leaves the skin looking hydrated, not dry.
- Cheryl Stuart Sheer Glow – This little gem is a cream highlighter that can be used to highlight your cheeks, nose, forehead, and temples. It comes in four shades, and in the summer I even swipe it across my eye lids for a sheer shine. My favorite is Movie Star!
- Cheryl Stuart Illuminating Powder – We have two beautiful shades if you like working with a powder over a cream formula. Using our highlighting brush you can add shimmer to all the right places, including your eyes!
Lips
In the summer I like using a gloss with a hint of color for full looking lips that get protection and hydration.
- Cheryl Stuart Vitamin C Lip Tint – This is a new product that delivers a vitamin C lip treatment which fights free radicals (anti aging) and a light wash of color that’s perfect for the beach, and will take you straight into dinner.
- Cheryl Stuart Gloss – This is one of our best sellers in an array of colors that will hydrate and plump your lips. Wear it alone or over your favorite lip stick.
- Liptox – X3 – This is my go to lip treatment before bed, as well as during the day when I need an infusion of repair, and hydration.
Eyes
When summer hits I love going for a sheer eye with eyeliner and a touch of mascara. A bit of shimmer will complete your look on balmy nights.
- Cheryl Stuart Eye Lights – This amazing loose shadow can be worn over a matte shadow for a pop of sheer shimmer, or directly on your primed eye for an intense opaque shimmer.

I love using eye lights on my lid with a soft contour color like Cheryl Stuart Portrait shadow in my crease and then Pitch Black liner on my water line top and bottom for a soft sexy evening eye.
